Along with Bill Haley (vocal and rhythm guitar), the rest of "His Comets" were Franny Beecher (lead guitar), Billy Williamson (steel guitar), Joey d'Ambrosio (tenor sax), Johnny Grande (piano), Marshall Lytle (double bass), and Billy Gussak (drums).
This was Franny Beecher's first session as the Comet's session guitarist. He was replacing the late Danny Cedrone, who had died instantly after falling down a staircase that lead to the second floor dining room of The 819 Bar in South Philly and breaking his neck.
